2024 Westminster Water Rates (Update)

To account for the increasing cost of repairing and replacing water mains and water treatment materials, water rates will rise by 4.5% in 2024. City Council slashed water rates in 2022, and residents will still enjoy lower water rates when compared to 2021 rates. In 2024, the cost of water for the average resident will rise from $28.41 to $29.69 in the winter when water consumption is at its lowest, and $90.71 to $94.79 in the summer when water consumption is at its highest.

Dear Filing 1 Homeowners,
Several of you have reached out to the HOA regarding the bobcat seen in the area. The bobcat has also frequented other filings as well as the golf course. All parties are aware and many have called both the City of Westminster and the Colorado Department of Wildlife. Here is what we can pass along based on our conversations with both entities:
  • Bobcats are considered a "wildlife nuisance" by the Colorado Department of Wildlife. Similar to rabbits, squirrells, raccoons, and coyotes, they can be trapped or hunted if they are causing damage to property. For more information on that, click HERE.
  • Under City of Westminster code, it is unlawful to discharge a firearm within city limits - so hunting the bobcat is illegal. You can see that ordinance HERE.
  • Both the Department of Wildlife and the City of Westminster have explained to us that bobcats are not a threat to humans. They state that bobcats hunt small animals (ie. rabbits).
  • Both entities explained that, similar to how they treat coyotes, racoons, etc., they would not remove a bobcat unless they have good reason. They do not put them in the same category as bears, moose, etc.
We would, however, recommend keeping a close eye on small pets. If you have other questions or want further details on the situation, we've listed a few helpful phone numbers below.
Colorado Division of Wildlife - (303) 297-1192
City of Westminster Animal Management - (303) 658-4326
